FAQ

What is Close Call Studio all about?

As an artist I’m focused on making work that is cruelty free, kind to the planet, and reduces waste wherever possible while also trying to bring some joy and humor to your day. I use materials like up-cycled fabrics, reclaimed wood, cardboard and more in my work. TBH I don't think there is any way to have truly ethical consumption within capitalism but I can promise I'm doing my best.

Why donate?

10% of all sales are donated because I care deeply about participating in a kinder and more community focused society and I will always put my money where my heart is. More info here

So what’s the big deal about handmade?

I’m making everything by hand which means some products may be delicate and if you’re ordering an item that I produce multiples of (like prints or some of the felt items) some subtle variations will be happening. You might get a different piece of wood than you see in the picture, maybe a more solid or "salty" print, etc. I promise though, if it doesn’t pass my very critical test of quality, it’s not going to see the light of day, much less be available for sale!

Want something custom?

I'm not always accepting commissions but I'm always open to hear the idea! Send me an email with your concept and budget and I’ll get back to you shortly!

Wanna work together?

I love collaborating with fellow creatives so if you have an idea and want to team up, send me an email about it and let’s talk!

Let’s talk about shipping!

Where's it coming from? All orders are shipped from Baltimore, MD within a week from when you place your order.

What about packaging? Each item is shipped in a recycled cardboard box, compostable mailer or reinforced envelope and is protected against shipping damages to the best of my ability.

What about damaged goods? Sometimes bad things happen to mail (believe me, I’ve been there) but once I ship it out, it's in the hands of the postal service. If something happens to your order, please email me within a week so we can figure it out.

USA: Everything is sent out via USPS either First Class or Priority Mail and you’ll be given your tracking once everything ships. Shipping costs will vary depending on what you’re getting and where it’s going, but you can calculate all that before you purchase.

International: I love sending mail to friends across the pond, but due to the distance shipping prices can be high, have some unexpected customs or import fees, and may take a long time. I thank you in advance for your patience and I’ll make sure it’s well worth the wait and will do everything in my power to get it to you ASAP. PS Since COVID, I haven't been able to shop to some international locations.

What about refunds/returns? Not happy with what you got? Please reach out within a week of receiving your package so we can resolve the issue. I'm always happy to offer exchanges and a refund with a returned item. Ultimately I want your experience to be positive so I promise to work on a solution to keep us both happy.

I'll send emails out 1-2x a month tops just updating you on all the good things happening with Close Call Studio and you'll even be the first to know!
